Arun,

Any International X Olympiad success from India is noteworthy, because unlike in the Olympiad Factory nations (shan't name them) Indian kids have to prepare for many other things - Board finals, entrance tests (at least 3). An Olympiad medal cuts them no slack and does not assure them admission to the Indian school of their choice. In fact professors of top Indian UG schools (IITs, IISc, JIPMER, AIIMS, Loyola, Xaviers, Stephens, Presidency, Hindu, Hans Raj etc.) take a dim view of prepping up for the Olympiad. Sarda deserves rich praise and is sure to enjoy her years at MIT. All the best then!
I was pretty surprised to find out that there was a section of Mumbai named Santa Cruz. I guess I really do need to learn some Indian history.
