Lesson from History

"If the Taliban are not defeated, history is a witness that whenever Khyber has been breached, the battle has been fought in Panipat." - Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, quoted by Khalid Hassan in the Daily Times.

Not sure what he meant by quoting Panipat. But surely agree that increased taliban activity in pakistan is a potential threat to India. On the other hand, the idea of pak-us-nato coallition is strategic move by pakistan.
1. Pakistan will eventually demand Aid to support the coallition
2. Get into the good books of US.
3. Fight uncontrollable internal terror.

At this point whats in it for US? Nothing apart from boasting themselves as Patrol Officers and another huge hole to US economy.

Forgot to mention the profit makers - us weapons manufcaturers
